Newbee has long been one of the premier Dota 2 teams worldwide. They won The International 4 and were finalist at The International 7.
Things went off the rails in May 2020 when their entire roster was implicated in a match-fixing scandal and banned from all CDA-DPL Professional League, ImbaTV and MarsTV events.
Newbee-Esports Team is a Chinese esports organization which plays multiple games such as Dota 2, Hearthstone and League of Legends. They’ve had tremendous success over time – winning The International 2014 and collecting $5 Million as prize pool!
Newbee has faced difficulty over recent years and was suspended from playing Dota 2 following an allegations of match fixing in February 2020. Though their participation has come to an end due to this ban, Newbee remains one of the richest esports teams worldwide.
Xiao8 hails from Shaoyang, Hunan. After graduating high school and working as an engineer for one year in mining company before leaving to pursue Dota as his career.
In 2014, he joined Newbee with Banana, Sansheng, and Hao with the aim of becoming world champions. At TI4, his team made history as they became the first Chinese team ever to win this event!

Newbee is a Chinese Dota 2 esports team founded over one year ago and boasting one of the most diverse rosters around. After taking home victory at TI4 World Championship, Newbee almost came all the way back at TI8 Grand Finals before falling short to Liquid Gaming in their loss at Grand Finals.
Newbee eSports Club team consisting of Chen “Hao” Zhihao, Zhang “Mu” Pan, Zhang “xiao8” Ning, Wang “Banana” Jiao and Zhaohui “SanSheng” Wang is now the first ever to take home the world’s biggest prize pool from any videogame competition thanks to Valve and Dota 2 developer Valve. After defeating ViCi Gaming they claimed first place and pocketed $5,028,174!
SanSheng has been a top tier carry player since 2013, but since joining Newbee esports team he has truly come into his own as an integral member. His signature sniper juggernaut has helped Newbee win several tournaments of individual skill (TI).
Newbee-Esports Team is one of China’s best-known and popular Dota 2 teams, winning The International 4 and dominating in deathball meta, something which has recently become extremely fashionable within Dota 2.
They had also set an unprecedented 29 game win streak before finally succumbing to OG in Epicenter Moscow Playoffs Day 1. Since then, they have gone on to dominate and take first place at major tournaments such as Manila Major, NSA2, NEC Nanyang Dota 2, and DPL Season 2.
Hao has been an invaluable member of Newbee since their competitive debut. A highly reliable carry player, Hao has won multiple tournaments thanks to his strong performance as a carry player.
