Natus Vincere is a multigaming eSports organization established in 2009 that currently sponsors teams and players across multiple esports titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, PUBG, FIFA Brawl Stars. Their name translates to Latin for “born to win”, with its full form being chosen through fan voting competition.
CS:GO
Natus Vincere was founded in 2009, and since then they have won countless tournaments. The multi-game esports organization includes rosters for popular esports titles like CS:GO, FIFA and Dota 2 amongst others, boasting some of the world’s premier players on each roster – hence NAVI standing for “Natus Vincere,” meaning “Born to Win.”
CS:GO revolutionized the gaming industry when it first released in 1999. Featuring classic maps like Dust, Inferno and Nuke along with standard competitive gameplay modes – this team-based first person shooter continues to draw an avid following today.
Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev leads the Ukrainian team in CS:GO as an award-winning AWC player who has amassed over one million dollars in prize money. Over this span of time, they have won several renowned tournaments such as PLG major in Stockholm and several BLAST global finals – recently, their victory at IEM Katowice Major was especially noteworthy.
Dota 2
Dota 2 is an immensely popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, reigning as undisputed king of its genre. But playing it can consume entire gaming lives, necessitating late night Skype calls and missed lunch breaks; and requires hours of practice with its complex genre-crossing ruleset that features “denying”, wherein players must kill off their own creeps, allies, and structures in order to deny opponents experience and gold gains.
Valve has accomplished something truly impressive. They have transformed DotA’s house-of-cards design into an appealing engine and implemented a business model which users love and embrace.
Dota 2 remains one of the most engaging games on Steam despite its steep learning curve, providing hours of entertainment both solo and with friends alike. Team fights can be incredible pieces of performance art; Na’Vi is well positioned to make deep tournament runs this year thanks to world-class AWPer Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs as well as young CIS talent Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.
PUBG
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, also known as PUBG, has quickly become one of the world’s most beloved videogames. Available across numerous platforms – including mobile – it helped popularize battle royale genre and has even inspired clones to emerge in many other forms.
Na’Vi found adapting to the game mechanics and tactics of PUBG difficult, leading to disappointing results for much of 2018. They made some modifications after DreamHack Winter tournament, yet were unable to secure any Major titles for some time thereafter.
At PGL Major Antwerp 2022, PUBG division enjoyed their latest victory at beating Heroic and ENCE thanks to star player, s1mple’s outstanding performance. Additionally, Ibiza and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek are two popular streamers within this team and together their success has cemented them as one of the most valuable clubs within esports.
League of Legends
League of Legends is an immensely popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game that has grown into one of the world’s premier eSports in terms of prize pools. Due to its immense success, it has given rise to spinoffs like mobile and card games as well as an animated series. Riot Games plans on developing additional versions such as fighting game, an esports management game, and even movie adaptations of their flagship title.
Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) has an extensive background in eSports since 2009 when they founded their organization and quickly established themselves in CS:GO, Dota 2, and FIFA tournaments. Based in Kyiv, Ukraine they boast a diverse roster of players.
The team is expected to make deep tournament runs in CS:GO. Their roster features top-tier AWPers Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs and Oleksandr “S1mple” Kostyliev as well as Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev bringing depth.
