Luminosity Gaming was established by Steve “Buyaka” Maida in February 2015 and headquartered in Toronto.
Luminosity has long been an influential player in the Valorant ecosystem and have won several tournaments – most recently VCT NA Challengers 2. However, following an excellent showing in VCT NA Challengers 2, they have decided to leave Valorant altogether and focus solely on other initiatives.

As one of the first esports organizations to step forward when helping those affected by COVID-19 pandemic, they organized an exclusive charity livestream through MusiCares that raised thousands for WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

In February 2019, Kreo, a member of Luminosity Gaming-Esports team was accused of scamming and selling Fortnite accounts illegally. A 17-minute YouTube video by The Fortnite Guy provided proof of Kreo’s actions; after which she was removed from her position in Luminosity.
