Dota 2
Dota 2 is an online multiplayer video game developed by Valve. As the successor to Warcraft 3 mod Defense of the Ancients, Dota 2 has quickly become one of the most played titles on Steam with over 500,000 concurrent players logged on at any given time. Due to its immense popularity it has created both an engaged community as well as a professional scene; though its steep learning curve makes mastery extremely satisfying once accomplished.
The goal of the game is to destroy an Ancient, which sits at the center of each enemy base. Two teams of five players compete head-to-head, choosing one hero as they use him or her throughout. Killing enemies and taking down towers earns gold which can be spent to purchase items that increase hero strength.
Dota 2 differs from other MOBAs by offering an expansive selection of items and abilities, making it both strategic and tactical in play. Furthermore, Dota 2 boasts many features designed specifically to support newcomers such as tutorial areas, in-game guides and tables of information for each hero – features that help the game remain accessible to new players.

Furthermore, players can place wards which give their teams vision around both the nexus and opponent teams.
